TCM secures new Civil Service Contract
TCM has been awarded the contract to train a team of over twenty internal mediators within the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) throughout the summer of 2005. This project, accredited by the Open College Network, builds on the commitment of PINS and TCM to resolve workplace conflicts using mediation: a non-adversarial, constructive and safe form of dispute resolution. The mediator’s role within the Inspectorate will be to create an environment where all parties to a conflict can have their views and concerns heard and addressed.

Baljeet Mann, Diversity Strategy and Recruitment Manager at PINS stated:“We wish to create a workplace where all staff can resolve their differences speedily and effectively without the stress that is so commonly associated with workplace conflict. We are delighted to have been able to develop this partnership with TCM to enable these aims to be met.”
David Liddle, founder of TCM commented at the announcement of this programme,
“With a growing portfolio of civil service and government contracts TCM is proud to be the UK’s leading provider of mediation and dispute resolution services to HM Government. The drive towards Fair Treatment and an increasing awareness of the real cost of workplace conflict is driving significant change within the modern Civil Service. This change is creating an environment where mediation can flourish. The development of mediation schemes to resolve workplace disputes are providing an alternative to the negative, punitive (and often counter productive) policies which have been the basis for dispute resolution for so many years.”
