TCM Secures Civil Mediation Council Registration
At last - a quality standard for workplace and employment mediators
For the past ten years, TCM has been a strong advocate of a national registration system for workplace and employment mediators. Whilst the scheme falls short of the national accreditation scheme that TCM has been advocating, this is an important first step.
On securing TCM's registration with the CMC, Beccie D'Cunha, A senior manager at TCM stated:
"Mediation is now an important element of companies HR and ER policies and strategies. It is therefore important that a minimum standard is in place to reassure all users and purchasers of mediation. TCM is proud to be one of the first mediation providers to become registered with the CMC."
Years of hard work
David Liddle, founder of TCM has worked tirelessly with Acas, BERR and other UK mediation providers to develop the scheme and according to the CMC, TCM's input has been 'central and significant' to the development of the new registration system.About CMC Registered
Following the 2007 Gibbons Review, action has been taken to repeal the 2004 Statutory Grievance and Discipline process from 6 April 2009. Employers will now be encouraged to pursue early resolution of workplace disputes, thereby avoiding recourse to employment tribunals.
