The PMA 'brush up' their mediator skills

The PMA event on Friday 10^thJune was an opportunity for newly trained mediators – and those who hadn’t practised in a while – to come together and brush up their mediation skills.
 
Facilitated by mediator and trainer, Clare Ramos, the day offered a chance to revisit the enormously successful TCM FAIR mediation model in a supportive environment and have an opportunity to participate in role playing the various stages of the mediation process.  There was much case discussion and delegates from organisations including London Underground, British Airways and London Borough of Brent refreshed their skills and tools previously learnt as well as gained knowledge of some new, more advanced ones. Some of the topics covered included getting parties to mediate, reframing, dealing with strong emotions and overcoming impasse.

As with all Professional Mediators’ Association events, the event offered a great opportunity for mediators to come together to share best practice and to provide support and supervision.
