We are very proud to welcome our new business development consultant, Jessica Anstey. We sat down with Jessica to find out more about her and her role. Jessica smiled and answered all our questions. You can enjoy Jessica’s answers below.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I moved to London in 2006 having completed my undergraduate degree in Industrial Psychology, where my chosen focus was towards business and conflict management subjects. Human resource management, organisational behaviour, communication and alternative dispute resolution were some of the core interests I established at this point.
I entered the world of residential property negotiations in the private sector, and it is there that I spent the past six years building a knowledge and skill base that has strongly affirmed my interest in organisational development and the management of constructive conflict through facilitative processes. I have recently completed my master’s degree in Conflict and Dispute Resolution through the Law Faculty of SOAS, University of London. Mediation and conciliation are invaluable processes which I passionately believe in.
Why did you want to work for The TCM Group?
The TCM Group became of primary interest to me, not least in that work here appeals to my desire to pursue a career in alternative dispute resolution, but that I relate wholly to the value system and believe in the services on offer. The TCM Group is well established in industry, across public and private sectors, and remains innovative in approach. It’s a great organisation to be a part of and I look forward to contributing to the growth and development of the TCM Group and our client organisations.
Could you please talk to us about your role & your goals?
I am a business development consultant which means that I focus on the growth of the business. My approach is customer centred. Not only is my aim to increase clientele volume but in addition, and equally importantly, to maintain and develop relationships with our current clients. These are the people who are central to our business and it is important that they know how valued they are.
The training and mediation services on offer are extensive and the senior resolution advisors on hand are equipped with a wealth of knowledge and experience, allowing each delivery to be bespoke - customised to industry and specific workplace environments which offers improved response to customer needs. My role is integral to this process - I am on hand to provide product/service knowledge, establish needs, and facilitate an effective matching of these aspects.
What are your first impressions of the TCM Group?
The working environment is incredibly warm and open and I have felt welcome from day one. There is a collection of great minds and wonderful personalities, making the working day stimulating, motivating and enjoyable. I am most excited about the customer-centred approaches and working with a team who share in this value system.
What should The TCM Group’s clients expect from you?
Our client is key: I recognise this and aim to deliver accordingly. I look forward to ensuring bespoke service delivery where that may best address customer needs and preferences. I am thrilled to be involved in the development of business and in the facilitation of implementing such value-adding and credit-worthy services.
Is there anything extra you would like to add?
Formal grievance procedures are recognised to be exorbitantly expensive for businesses – monetary costs, time-consumption, breakdown of relationships, individual stresses and dented morale are just a few of the costs involved. Mediation, as an alternative, works well in preventing an escalation of costly conflict and responds effectively to the needs of the individual and business alike.
Furthermore, equipping individuals with core skills and actively developing EQ is empowering and satisfying; and should be seen as a valid tool through which to preserve relationships and prevent conflict. I feel confident, working on behalf of the TCM Group, in offering a range of accredited and recognised developmental programs through which to support our clients... “If you aren’t one, you really should be.”
